Dominant

Dominant borrows the look of an old enamel trade sign: a proud brand name, a founding date, a star, a chevron — and a slogan that says the quiet part out loud. Rust blooms through the lettering, the paint lifts and peels, and the words “captured and exploited” ghost through the top edge like something the sign was built to cover.

It is a painting about branding as a way of laundering history, and about how much of that history is still hanging, slightly weathered, on the wall.
